The Birth of Curry & Craft

Curry & Craft was started by two people with a healthy obsession for both great curry, and delicious beer.  After sampling almost every Indian restaurant in Cape Town, they decided to create a space that filled the gap between fine-dining Indian restaurants and cafeteria style establishments. Ask any household where good curry is made and they’ll tell you that Indian food is about celebration, family, bringing people together and having a fun time with it. Actually; that’s also exactly what beerhouses are about – and so Curry & Craft came about.

“Great lunch venue. Excellent food, huge portions, and good prices. Even cheaper for lunch. The Bunny Chows and Curries are their stars. Cosy and spacious seating area so a good place to have lunch time meet ups.”

“Absolutely loved this place! Found it on Entertainer. Will KEEP visiting this place.
Arrived to a lovely atmosphere. It’s cost, beautiful and tasty!
We enjoyed our crafts drinks with our food arriving very quickly.
We played Scrabble (which is one of the many games available to play) while eating our dinner and a fun game of uno during after dinner coffee.

So impressed! ”

“We went to Curry and Craft for the first time last night and were blown away by the food. I had the Thali - a selection of 3 curries, served with sides, rice and a roti. The best part of the dish was that I couldn't even decide which curry was my favourite - all 3 were incredibly flavourful, and I would order each as a main dish. On top of that, Curry and Craft's prices are affordable, and they have amazing lunch and happy hour specials. I'll definitely be back, and I've told all of my colleagues to visit too!”

“Let me just say this, I have just come from having dinner at Curry and Craft and not only was the food 100% out of the top draw but also very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back for more. Maybe the butter chicken next.”

“I am quite a sissy when it comes to hot spicy food, but this place changed my mind. Hot and spicy can be divine when done right! And you are doing it the right way! Absolutely loved the food. And the candied fennel sprinkles with the bill is the perfect ending to a night of spice and aroma!”

“We really enjoyed the meal, super friendly waiters. Just missed hot chocolate on the menu as the place was a bit cold. Otherwise its a cute little spot, clean and quick service. Keep it up.”
